It has been a while, but the chair (one out of two) is finally here. Around Christmas my parents wanted to help me out with a comfortable chair so I could enjoy watching TV, read, relax, etc. And as these big chairs are a bit expansive, I did not mind the extra help. They were looking themselves and early January they found a place having a huge sale.
A local shop was either renovating or moving to a new location or whatever, and needed to have nice sale. So they offered one chair, and the second one for 1 euro more. Well, that's very nice. That could mean, one chair for my mom (who has increase leg/back problems due to age and falling a few times last summer) and one for my dad (who's not getting any younger himself). And they offered me to take a look and get another chair too. And coincidence I picked exactly the same chair as my mom did. And took the same chair as my dad picked as second chair. For visitors, or when they came over for a coffee. Hey .. it's a euro anyway.. right? Anyway .. they needed to get ordered, and sized up for our body length and whatnot. So it took a few months. My parents received their two chairs last Saturday, and I just received mine. Only one though, the other one will be delivered next week or week after. Thankfully we pay upon delivery, so it's not a big deal for me.
The chair is very comfortable, and I can imagine Skyping with friends while lying backwards, relaxing; Instead of leaning forward staring at a computer monitor - not relaxing. It has a normal sitting position, and you can adjust the back for pressure, and you can push it 'out' so you can basically lie in it (will I ever fall asleep in it?). Sure, it might not look like a 'modern' bachelors guy chair, but still. Comon .. looks ok enough and sits wonderful. I am happy with it and am very grateful that my parents helped out getting a better chair then the lousy ones I have now (but will probably no longer use hehe).
Oh by the way, I am writing this blog on my Powerbook while sitting comfortably in my chair. (sweet)
