Despite that everything is ok I still noticed some change, and after a reading test she quickly noticed that I require to have the text further away from me to read more comfortably. This and a few other things showed that the complaints people have around 40/45 years of age are already occurring to me right now at age 30.
Time for some reading glasses. An appointment with a specialist will be made to confirm this and then we will check what glasses (well, their lenses) are best. Hopefully this will make reading the small print on boxes easier, and descriptions below pictures, and even web page-text, more comfortable.
I feel so old now, turned 30 last January, and already in need of reading glasses, but .. I am ok with it. I understand, and it is just one of those things that comes with the territory unfortunately. My eyes are bad by default, even with glasses on I see about 25% - lack of detail, blurry, etc. Having to put the text on paper further away from me won't help improve seeing it better, hopefully the reading glasses take care of that difference.
So .. I am not sure how unhappy I am about this news, but I was really happy my eyes didn't get worse. Because there's always a risk of slowly going blind after the age of 24.
What remains is finding out if insurance covers this, I will have to call them before April. I doubt it will be a problem.
